Stated "First Tor Special Edition: 2024" first printing with a full number line starting with "1". 8-1/2" tall, 412 numbered pages followed by an unnumbered page of "About the Author"; one piece light blue paper-covered boards; white lettering on the spine with an illustration of 'The House', in white, on the front cover; plain ivory end pages; fore edge is trimmed. Book is brand new and pristine: exterior is spotlessly clean, square, hinges tight, no corner bumps or edge dings; head and heel of spine both undamaged; hinges very tight and not damaged in any fashion; electric blue stain on all 3 edges (2020 edition had no edge stain). Interior is spotlessly clean and completely unmarked; pages are tight and clean with no marks; no page corners folded or damaged; hinges quite strong and tight; spine undamaged; paper very lightly toned and quite flexible; no staining or discoloration; no distortion of the book from reading or improper shelving; no remainder mark, not book club edition nor ex-library. Jacket is also brand new and it is also pristine: it is clean; no tears, folds, creases or fading; no bumps on corners or edges; both head and heel of spine are not damaged; publisher's original price of "28.99 (38.99 CAN)" listed on the upper right corner of front flap. Condition of book and jacket consistent with being new and not read. No other discernible or objectionable faults on book or jacket such as marks or writing within, stains, tears, chips, or other damage visible that would diminish its appearance. No remainder mark, no previous owner markings or inscriptions, not price clipped, not a book club edition, not a former library book. Signed by the author before his talk; done in medium black ink pen on the title page next to his printed name. His talk, with about 800 people in attendance, on September 14, 2024, in the Saint Louis County Library's Clark Family Library on Lindbergh & I-64, was delightful, emotional, hilarious and quite moving (he does not like JK Rowling!!!).
