Item description from seller

1997. ix, 103pp. Author Pat Dennison's own copy with her signature to the top of the title page. Minor wear to spine. The book is otherwise in excellent condition. B&W images, maps and plans throughout. Folding colour map to rear. "Historic Dunblane is a fascinating study of the town's history and archaeology, from its origins up to the nineteenth century. The Celtic saint Blane is said to have founded a religious community here perhaps as early as the seventh century; while the fortunes of medieval and later Dunblane were always dependent on those of the cathedral at its centre. Today, the surviving street pattern and many old buildings are strong reminders of Dunblane's historic past. This book is part of the Scottish burgh survey-a series designed to identify which areas of Scotland's historic burghs are of archaeological interest.".
