Signed by both Rivkin and Kerr with an inscription by Rivkin: For Sylvia and Jim, With thanks for a long fine friendship." The "Jim" appears to be Jim Allen, and on page 327 an anecdote about Allen and MGM is related. Allen Rivkin (1902-1990) was a Hollywood screenwriter and one of the founders of the Screenwriters Guild. Laura Kerr was a writer, literary agent and collaborator with Rivkin to whom she was married. Both were knowledgeable observers of the Hollywood scene. The book takes the form of a collection of short anecdotal stories about Hollywood experiences, by producers, actors, directors, writers and others: Kirk Douglas, Jimmy Durante, Stan Freeberg, Edith head, Bob Hope, John Huston, Garson Kanin, Danny Kaye, Max Lerner, Meyer Levin, Roy Rogers, Dick Powell, Herb Stein and many many more.
