Item description from seller

Offering this unique signed copy of "If You Like Hazel: The Best of the Hazel Cartoons from the Saturday Evening Post" by Ted Key. E.P. New York: Dutton & Co., 1951, 1st Edition. Signed and inscribed on the ffep with an original inked Hazel cartoon drawing and dated March 11, 1953. Rust red tweed hardcover with black stamped design and letters, dust jacket, pp.128, filled with illustrations in b/w all of which appeared in the Saturday Evening Post between 1949-1952. Overall condition is Good. The DJ is in rough shape, as pictured with tattering, creasing, foxing, and two small pieces of tape on the underside at the spine. The price is intact on the inner flap, and Ted Key's photo is on back in b/w. Jacket is now in protective mylar. The book itself is in good shape. The binding is secure and only shows mild wear. The endpapers have mild splotchy age toning; the pages are brighter, clean and unmarked, and none of them loose. A wonderful piece of mid-century Americana - and humor! Ted Key (1912-2008) was a prominent American cartoonist and writer best known for creating the beloved single-panel comic strip Hazel, which followed the life of a bossy, live-in housemaid. Hazel made her debut in "The Saturday Evening Post" in 1943 and ran there through 1969, then moved to daily newspaper syndication until Key's retirement in 1993. [C3].…
