First edition, first print, flat-signed by the author in black pen to the dedication page for a young girl called Verity at Borders Books in Brighton in July 2000, during the Hogwarts Express Book Tour. With Letter of Authenticity from Adam Houston aka The Harry Potter Specialist, the only authenticator who specialises solely in JK Rowling's signature. The book is in very good condition; with no reading lean; sharp corners; lightest of bumps to the top and lower edge of the top board. Spine foot is pushed; no discolouring to the boards. The text block is toned; two small spots to the fore-edge. Slight offsetting to the pastedown endpapers, otherwise internally clean, bar some light foxing. No tears to any of the pages and no dog-ears. The paper is evenly toned through the book. The jacket is in near-fine condition, with a small crease to the front in-flap, a crease to the lower edge and a solitary spot, otherwise clean.
