Add to basketFirst deluxe edition, first impression, inscribed by the author on the half-title, "To Emma, J. K. Rowling". The recipient was Emma McGregor, whom Rowling hired as a babysitter in Edinburgh around the time of publication. The deluxe edition was issued on 2 October 2000, following the trade edition of 8 July. Signed copies of the deluxe edition are not common. The deluxe Harry Potters remain much sought after by collectors, being larger than their trade counterparts, handsomely cased in full cloth, and featuring the cover art of the trade editions as pictorial labels. The deluxe Goblet of Fire is significant for providing the first notice of Warner Brothers' copyright and trademark of "Harry Potter, names, characters and related indicia". Errington A9(b). Octavo. Original purple cloth, spine and front cover lettered in gilt, pictorial paper label on front cover, dark blue endpapers, edges gilt, red silk bookmarker. Cloth lightly rubbed, still a near-fine copy.
