First Edition. Signed presentation copy from the great comedian Harold Lloyd in the year of publication at the front free endpaper: ÒTo Elizabeth Purdy, Thanks for wanting this. Best always, 1964Ó. Lloyd has drawn a pair of round glasses, for which he was known, as his signature just prior to the date. Laid in is a 5 inch by 3 inch note card signed, ÒHarold LloydÓ with his drawing of his trademark round glasses as well. Illustrated. Fine fresh copy in a near fine price-clipped dust jacket with just a faint trace of use and minor darkening to the spine. Enclosed in a custom cloth clamshell box with gilt stamped leather at the spine. A study of comedy, from the point of view of the legendary Golden Age of Comedy silent film star, Harold Lloyd. A terrific read, featuring more than 200 photos of Harold Lloyd accompanied by his anecdotal commentary of such comic greats as Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, W.C. Fields, Laurel and Hardy, the Marx Brothers, Lucille Ball, Jack Lemmon, Red Skelton, Dick Van Dyke, Carol Burnett, etc.
