The paper, handmade from rags, is 100% acid-free. The books were printed letterpress under the painstaking attention of master printers. Letterpress, the process of printing from letters or type in relief (rather than from intaglio plates or Plano graphically), is the traditional form of printing used in the nineteenth century. Every copperplate etching by Alan James Robinson is hand drawn and printed by hand on fine French art paper. These limited-edition letterpress books are works of art with the look and feel of a tradition long since gone. It was the 32nd book in Safari Press s Classics in African Hunting Series.
