First Edition. Hardcover. Warmly inscribed by editor and contributor Gregory Zilboorg, one of the leading figures in 20th-century American psychiatry, to his close friend and colleague, Dr. Henry H. "Hal" Babcock. A substantial and authoritative history of American psychiatry, richly documenting the field's development. 4to, cloth-backed boards. PLEASE NOTE that all our First Editions are also First Printings, unless we specifically note otherwise. All our dust jackets are protected in clear mylar covers. Very good in good dust jacket. Most of the jacket is present, but it has fully split along front panel gutter. Otherwise, there are minor nicks and small chips, and the jacket is now in a mylar protective cover.
