Add to basketFirst Edition. Signed. Hardback. Dust Jacket. 8vo. pp ix, 115 + several pages of b/w illus. Signed by the author on the title page, simply 'Ronald Tree, March 1973.' Original publisher's tan boards lettered gilt at the spine. No other inscriptions. With the small attractive bookplate on the first blank (the endpapers have an ancient map of Barbados), showing a bookish owl, of ÔOzÕ publisher, later media tycoon, Felix Dennis (1947 -2014) who owned houses in the West Indies. Small label on cover notes: 'The royalties from this book are given to Barbados National Trust.' Ronald Tree (1897 - 1976) had been married to the designer and gardener Nancy Lancaster and also established the Sandy Lane resort in Barbados. Very good indeed in very good indeed price-clipped dust jacket.
