About the Authors

Brian Jones is a 53-year-old grandfather who was responsible for the construction of the gondola and flight systems of the balloon. He was the co-pilot in the Breitling Orbiter 3.

Bertrand Piccard is a Swiss doctor who was the pilot in all three Breitling Orbiter attempts. His grandfather was the first man to fly to the stratosphere in a balloon, while his father was the first man to go to the deepest part of the ocean.
