Lithograph print by Moebius (Jean Giraud) on Acid-free Paper. SIGNED NUMBERED PRINT. Size: 26" x 18" (660mm x 450mm). An extremely rare lithograph hand signed by both Geoff Darrow and Moebius (Jean Giraud). This print was released as an additional secret print linked to the legendary 'City of Fire / La Cità Feu' portfolio published by Aedena in 1985, which consists of 8 plates originally pencilled by Geoff Darrow then inked and coloured by Moebius. Part of the image, the right hand side showing an iconic Starwatcher character sitting on a bench, was printed in black ink on the descriptive pages of the City of Fire portfolio. This print is numbered in pencil as being number 002 of only 150 released, making it far scarcer than even the 1st edition of City of Fire portfolios. The print is also blind stamped (embossed) with the Aedena Paris publisherâ s stamp in the bottom right hand corner and of course hand signed in pencil by both artists. The left hand side of the image is bursting with Darrowâ s characters, from the giant Turtle on roller skates to the penguins, reference to Herge's Tintin, and of course an early appearance of his character Bourbon Thret, here carrying a multi coloured whale which he meets floating around in a downtown area during one of his comic episodes published in the book 'Darrow Comics and stories' (published 1986- a year after this drawing was made!) This print is in overall excellent condition and shows no signs of ever having been framed. There is a small moon above the numbering. This has been taken into consideration. (1.01).
