Item description from seller

A very rare collectible SIGNED 1952 hardcover first edition in dust jacket. Book is VG+, DJ has minor edgewear and a couple of small closed tears, now protected in mylar sleeve. 128 pages. Author was a Presbyterian missionary teacher to Navajo children. Flyleaf inscription reads "Love from Edith." There is also a 3x5 card in the book inscribed "Kara - The author worked with Gladys in N. Mexico and later with your Gran'pa in Ganado, Az, a school for Navajo Indian children. Thought you might be interested!" This card does not appear to be in the author's hand, but perhaps "Kara's" grandmother or mother who may have known the author and was, thus, able to get a signed first edition. All over, a truly special Navajo/American Southwest-related SIGNED children's book.
