The Collapse of Globalism: And the Reinvention of the World by John Ralston Saul, issued by Viking Canada in 2005. This is the Canadian first edition, first printing, with the complete 1?10 number line on the copyright page. Hardcover in dust jacket, ISBN 0-670-06367-3. | Saul examines the weakening of globalism as a dominant political and economic ideology and the renewed importance of nation-states, nationalism, citizenship, and democratic choice. Ambitious in scope, the book considers the development of postwar globalization, its promises and contradictions, and the political alternatives emerging in its wake. | This copy is flat signed by John Ralston Saul on the title page. The signature appears by itself without a dedication or personalized inscription, making it an appealing copy for collectors of signed Canadian nonfiction, political thought, and modern first editions. | Very Good overall, as stated by the seller. The dust jacket has light visible shelf and edge wear, including minor wear around the spine corners and lower edge. The photographed title and copyright pages are legible and show no obvious annotations, and no additional copy-specific defects are disclosed. The book will be packaged carefully to help protect the hardcover and dust jacket in transit.…
