Letter reads: "Mr. Angelo Feretti, Dear Friend: This Book is being sent to you because you are among those whose friendship we cherish. You are busy with your own work as wetry to be with ours. Although we can not visit together as often as we wish, please know from this book that you continue high in our regard. 'Glamorous Dolly Madison' tells of men and women in earlier days who were mostly engaged in public service. Substantially all of our friends who will read this now give much of their time to civic, educational, philanthropic, political or other forms of service to others. That this book may assist in encouraging you to carry on in such work, regardless of difficulties which are usually more than balanced by satisfactions, and that our friendship with you may long endure, are earnest whishes of the author and her husband. Alice and Tom Desmond__Newburgh, New York__April 22, 1946". Hardcover in Fine condition, with Dust Jacket which is in fragile condition. Tan Cloth with titles in blue on front boad and spine. Only imperfection appears to be a slight bump to the bottom edge of the spine, no cracking or fraying. Pages are clean and brigh; binding is tight. Dust Jacket shows two different prices. Front flap shows $2.75 and the rear flap shows $2.50. Jacket has chips and tears throughout. Worst of chipping is at the jacket flap folds.
