First Edition, First Printing. Signed by both Ray Bradbury and Robert Bloch in black ink. Hardcover in dust jacket; illustrated with black and white photos; green boards / red spine stamped with black pictorial of Christopher Lee as also seen on the dust jacket). Collection of 18 stories on which 18 classic horror films were based. In his introductions to each story, Peter Haining provides information on the story itself and the film made from it along with a black and white photo illustration from 15 of the films. The Ray Bradbury story is The Fog Horn a.k.a. The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms for the 1953 Ray Harryhausen film. The Robert Bloch story is The Skull of the Marquis de Sade adapted for the 1965 Peter Cushing / Christopher Lee film The Skull. Other films / authors which include Edgar Allan Poe (The Oblong Box), Bram Stoker (Dracula’s Daughter and The Lunatics), Somerset Maugham (The Magician), Gaston Leroux (Phantom of the Opera), Ambrose Bierce (Incident at Owl Creek), H. P. Lovecraft (Monster of Terror), and others. Near fine in a very good dust with some tiny chipping and a couple of tiny tears.
