Hardcover First Edition in dust jacket with protective wrapper. This is an ASSOCIATION copy. It is first inscribed by the author to "Charles Hannah"; then INSCRIBED by Author/Poet James Dickey to "Ed Duncan". It is also inscribed to "E. H. Duncan Collection" from Dan (possibly Carter from the Southern Studies department at the University of South Carolina). All inscriptions are on the title page. The remaining pages are clean, unmarked and the binding is solid. While dust jacket is in an archival protective cover, it has sustained a few small tears and chips. This is a RARE Association copy of a classic biography of a key Agrarian. Professional packaging and prompt shipping.
