Add to basketNice copy of a book in its second printing. Signed by the author on front endpaper with a rather bald presentation inscription to his friend the novelist Hilda Vaughan. Book itself is hard to find and signed copies of any of Forester's books scarce. No other markings. Tight and square. In red boards with nice gold lettering on spine and front board. Spine ends crimped. Tips sharp. Price intact jacket has some shallow chips along top edge, 1" closed tear and is sunned a bit to red portion of spine. Novel was considered by author as his favorite among his books. Based loosely on the career of General Sir Douglas Haig. In mylar. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
