Author's description of The Glass Cat of Oz
Bungle, the notoriously selfish and conceited Glass Cat, decides to try being helpful in order to relieve her boredom. She carries an invitation to one of Ozma's parties to the Queen of Oogaboo, but discovers that a band of Bad Lads have armed themselves and plan to conquer that small country. She bears word to Ozma, while the Oogaboos leave their village and hide in the woods.

Meanwhile, Barry Klein, an orphan from California, finds a genie in a bottle and is granted three wishes. He wishes to go to Oz, with his twin sister Becky, and to know how to pronounce the magic word "pyrzqxgl," which allows him to transform anything into anything.

Ozma sends Trot, Cap'n Bill, Button-Bright, and the Hungry Tiger to Oogaboo with the Glass Cat to defeat the Bad Lads and free Oogaboo from their rule. Barry and Becky, looking to do something helpful in order to be able to remain in Oz, follow them in the form of various birds and other creatures.

Will the rescue party defeat the Bad Lads? Will Barry and Becky be able to help? Will Ozma let them stay in Oz? You can probably make a shrewd guess if you've read many Oz books, but if you want the details, read The Glass Cat of Oz.
