Olive cloth binding with gilt spine lettering and speckled red edges. Title page with finely executed vignette by Thomas Callendar Campbell-Mackie (later Head of School of Design at Glasgow School of Art) First 4 issues through-paginated to page 114; then Vol 5, pp40; Vol 6, pp36; Vol 7 pp40; Vol8 pp36. Authors include: Francis H Newbery (Director of the School of Art); Louisa Victoria Johnston; James A Morris; W Norman Clark; Robert Valnor etc. The article by 'G.G.M.' - Vol 8, pp13-14 has been annotated with substantive corrections and revisions, suggesting that this volume probably belonged to this anonymised contributor. One institutional copy of this journal only is recorded in the National Library of Scotland. The School's extraordinary home is referenced several times in the journal including an article at Vol 4 pp100-1 'While the strength of Mr Mackintosh's architecture lies perhaps in its mystery, his system of decoration has its strength or weakness in its obviousness.' H L Honeyman describes it as 'that strikingly beautiful blot on our cityscape' at the beginning of his thoughtful analysis of the structure. The journal contains a mixture of serious commentary, satirical analysis, poems and skits; all with an artistic bent.
