ALL UK PARCELS SENT TRACKED! ALL OVERSEAS PARCELS SENT AIRMAIL, TRACKED! (New, Hardcover, 2008). 2008 1st edition. 8vo (140 x 215mm). Pp126. B/w photographs. Black boards, spine titled in gilt. Edition limited to 400 copies, signed & numbered by the author. Fine in dust-wrapper. German Eagle explores the fascinating falconry of Fritz Loges, the very first falconer to have success with golden eagles on German soil. Set largely against the backdrop of Nazi Germany, this is a riveting account of ingenuity and boldness, of hacking bases at fabulous castles and fox pursuits through snow-heavy forests. It is also a journey into the wider falconry scene of the day, taking the reader to the great Reichsfalkenhof, on gyrfalcon-collecting missions to Greenland and Iceland, and to the famous Berlin Hunting Exhibition. Containing translations of Loges' own flight accounts and supported by dozens of old photos, this never before told story will hold the reader from start to finish. .
