SCARCE NUMBERED AND SIGNED LIMITED EDITION (#121/130 copies) in blue pebble cloth with gilt titling on cover and spine; signed by Laura Laurenson Byrne - Dr. Byrne's wife; frontispiece sketch of Fort Lewis in Colorado (1882) plus other sketches; 160pp. Howes B1078. O'Keefe #293. Very Good+ with light wear at corners + head/tail; lightly sunned spine; endpapers toned; contents cleaned, unmarked and excellent. The dedication page indicates Byrne's wife wrote down these reminiscences as her husband told them to her. While primarily an account of the Colorado and New Mexico frontier, the author met General Custer, his wife Elizabeth and brother, Tom Custer, in Memphis, and tells of their time together. A very collectible western Americana item.
