Blue cloth boards, gilt titles on spine and front board in imitation of Henle's signature. Binding tight. Boards are somewhat faded, the front board more than the back. All pages clean without any underlinings or folds. Volume contains 24 b&w plates, with commentary on each. Signed by Henle on half-title page, "With the compliments of the author, Fritz Henle St. Croix." 1st edition. 12 3/4" x 12 3/4". Text in English. Foreword by Allan Porter. Essay written by Fritz Henle entitled, "Reflections about his work by the photographer". Contains tipped in pictures of the King and Queen of Denmark commemorating their first visit to the Virgin Islands, formerly the Danish West Indies. Actual book is pictured. See images provided.
