Signed (full name, only) by author in blue ink to the otherwise blank FFE. Title page in black and green. Not price-clipped; original $5.00 price still showing. "Good" dust jacket is missing bottom 3-1/2 inches of its spine.The French Broad flows from mountainous western North Carolina into Tennessee, and eventually winds its way into the Tennessee River. In the 1890s, the Stokely brothers began canning their tomatoes on the shores of the French Broad -- pork and beans came later. 371 pp. including Bibliography and Index.
