SIGNED by Friedlander and inscribed to publisher Nicholas Callaway in the year of publication: "June 2, 1981 / New York City / For Nicholas Callaway / with pleasure & / friendship / Lee Friedlander." Printed by The Stinehour Press and The Meriden Gravure Company from halftone negatives made by Richard Benson. 40 black and white reproductions of botanicals, continuing the formalist approach Friedlander employed in "The American Monument." Covers slightly bowed, light wear to the spine head and top edge; a very good to near fine copy in purple boards.
