xiii, [3], 395pp, bound in creme cloth with red lettering, binding and hinges tight. Signed by the author on the front free endpaper, with his bookplate. Covers show slight darkening, two bumped corners, interior in Very Good Condition. The dust jacket is price-clipped, with edge wear/tear, now housed in a protective mylar cover. This autobiography "reveals the startling inter-relationship between the sex impulse and artistic creation". Written with passionate candor. Actually, written by a puffed up author with a chip on his shoulder. It turns out that the author, although a successful American poet and journalist, was also a strong pro-German propagandist, and eventually became an agent operating on behalf of Nazi Germany. He was eventually convicted, spending close to four years in the Lewisburg Federal Penitentiary.
