Publisher s cream cloth, stamped in blind on the upper board, and in black and red on the spine, colored endpapers, pale-yellow-stained top-edge; book with a very slight lean, else about fine, in a bright dust jacket with a few short tears and minor rubbing. Inscribed on the FFEP by Malamud to one S. J. Hessel, M.D., probably at the behest of one Betty Godfrey, who has affixed her signature above Malamud s.
