(London: Hodder & Stoughton 1953). First UK Edition. Publisher's red boards with black lettering to the spine and front board. SIGNED & INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR. Boards bright and clean. Some foxing to the top edge. A couple of tiny bumps to the boards (hardly worth mentioning). Overall a VG+ copy with clean contents. Inscribed by the Author to the verso of the front free end-paper: "Dear Penny/ Good wishes/ from/ Enid Blyton". The dustwrapper is VG with slight rubbing, creasing and nicks to the edges with small loss to the spine ends. Signed first editions of the "Fives" are quite uncommon these days. Famous Five # 12.
