About this Item
Gray cloth. 8vo. 334pp. Pictorial dust jacket (not price-clipped). First edition. With a typed letter signed from the author tipped-in. In this book the nautical author tells of his life in British tramp steamers as third, second and chief engineer until he left England for the United States and a different way of life. In the letter, dated 1946, McFee responds to a letter from a fan on the west coast, thanking him for not asking for a photograph or signed book and for keeping him in touch with other parts of the U.S. he hasn't visited yet. A very good, bright copy with some light bumping to the spine tips and corners. There is some browning across from the letter on the second flyleaf else the text is very good with some light soiling and wear. The jacket is very good with light chipping to the spine tips.
