First edition. Fine in tight, unread wraps as published. Signed, dated in the year of publication and inscribed to French poet François Villon! Why would Gondry inscribe this book to a 15th-century French poet? Whenever I go to author events, I'll buy 2 copies of what they're promoting and ask the author to inscribe a copy to their favorite dead artist. Or writer. Or musician. Or poet. It just depends on who's signing! Mark Oliver Everett from The Eels inscribed a copy of his book to Beethoven. Patti Smith signed a copy of Just Kids to Gogol. You get it. Some authors scoff. Some authors decline. And some accept. One accused me playing a practical joke. Michel Gondry accepted. It's always interesting to see who inscribes to whom. For me, it sheds a little more light on the author. I might start digging around my collection and offering up more of these. I've got a few.

Store description
My name is Jim Camp, and I own and operate the synaesthesia press. First and foremost, the synaesthesia press is a very small, very independent publishing house specializing in broadsides and chapbooks letterpress printed in a small run. Authors and artists past published include Tosh Berman, Tim O’Brien, Barry Gifford, Charles Bukowski, and Charles Plymell, among others. As a bookseller, I offer a variety of inventory -- I especially love stuff that is considered generally subversive; for example, anything by or about Beatniks, Outlaws, Perverts, Weirdos, and Outsiders; good literary fiction (especially "dirty" and / or forgotten titles by forgotten authors) and almost anything by or about Bukowski. I love photography, especially found amateur snapshots and professionally made vintage photographic prints; little mags, zines, photo books, art books and Artists Books; and, finally, anything smutty or sleazy or erotic or cheesecake-related vintage publications, photos or ephemera. Thanks!…
