First edition. Inscribed by the author. 8vo. Contemporary patterned boards, leather label to spine, marbled endpapers, edge-worn and rubbed to extremities, evidence of splitting to back strip, a few snags to fragile pages, these being browned to margins, with ink stamp and numbering of the library of the French Institute in London, as well as a reference taped to the tail of the spine, inscribed by the author to the title page (photo supplied). An uncommon little travelogue. Dr. Keser was Swiss born but spent a number of years in London as physician to the French Hospital and Dispensary and was held in high regard, especially by members of the french-speaking community.
