Burroughs (1917-2010) was a Chicago-based black artist, poet, community organizer, political activist, educator, and co-founder of Chicago's DuSable Museum of African American History. Ruth B. Love, to whom the book is inscribed, was an esteemed author and educator and the first African-American to serve as superintendent for the Chicago Public Schools district. Minor shelf and handling wear. Head and foot of spine and corners and edges of boards lightly soiled/faded.
