First edition. Octavo. 57pp. Blue boards stamped in silver. Staining along the gutters, small faint stain on first leaf, about very good, probably issued without dustwrapper. First book by Fishwick, written and self-published during the War while he was an ensign in the Navy. Inscribed by the author: "For Dr. James S. Wilson, who has done more than anyone else to widen my horizons. Marshall Fishwick. September, 1945. James Southall Wilson was a consequential professor of English at the University of Virginia with whom Fishwick studied. Fishwick went on to become one of the founders of the multidisciplinary study of Popular Culture and established the journal *International Popular Culture* An uncommon title with a significant association.
