About this Item
New York: Pantheon, 2007. A fine copy in red and white boards with silver spine lettering in a fine, pictorial dustwrapper. Both book and jacket are pristine and the book appears unread. In it, we follow the Wu family--father Nan, mother Pingping, and son Taotao--as they sever their ties with China in the aftermath of the 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre and begin a new, free life in the United States. But it's not all coming up roses in this interesting tale. Ha Jin won the National Book Award for Waiting as well as two PEN/Faulkner awards and many other prizes. He has signed this copy in Chinese and in English on the title page. Seller Inventory # 010161
