1st Printing. Signed. 1 pages. Published in 2013. Rare Fred Cray collectible artwork. An original artwork that the artist has produced once a year to celebrate the Holiday Season and welcome the New Year. This particular piece measures 15 X 10 inches. The piece is unique. Presents Fred Cray's "Untitled Original Artwork". One of a Series of unique pieces that he makes once a year, the work of art as thoughtful gesture. The art is Surrealist-inspired, with a touch of Symbolism, and consists of three juxtaposed "found" items that are pasted on hand-cut paper board: Two New York Lottery tickets (which symbolize the ultimate good luck-wish for the New Year) on both sides with a self-portrait in the middle (which symbolizes the ultimate mystery and beauty of art and life itself). His dedication is hand-written at the back. In this truly wonderful Series, Cray uses the juxtaposition of photographs, the most easily reproducible medium, to make something unique, literally one-of-a-kind. Despite its reproducible character, the photograph does not diminish or undermine Cray's ability to create a unique work of art that reflects his personal vision. He reminds us that the most serious and ambitious contemporary art is increasingly more, not less, photographically-based. An esoteric, somewhat eccentric figure, Cray keeps American Surrealism and the very idea of art alive in our time, which desperately needs it. Fred Cray has not received the kind of recognition that he deserves because his art is quirkily personal. But he is The Real Thing: Thoughtful yet intuitive, and deeply moving. As such, he is an anomaly in the midst of industrial-scale, manufactured art. His time will come because it is on his side. An absolute "must-have" work of art for Fred Cray collectors. This 15 X 10 inch original artwork is very prominently and beautifully signed and inscribed in black ink-pen on verso by the artist: "Happy holidays. Hope spirits are good and business not too bad. I did get my first two books out this year and have a show opening at Janet's in January. Otherwise healthy and happy. Love, Fred Cray". The recipient, Martha Schneider, who is named, is an important figure in the art photography world. This comes with a pristine copy of the Invitation Card for Fred Cray's "Unique Photographs" at Janet Borden New York City in 2014. Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer you can withdraw from the contract in accordance with the following. Consumer means any natural person who is acting for purposes which are outside his trade, business, craft or profession.

Statutory right to withdraw
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the last good or the last lot or piece.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, electronically fill in and submit a clear statement on our website, under "My Purchases" in "My Account". We will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a withdrawal on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back, or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.
You shall send back the goods or hand them over to ModernRare, CHICAGO, Illinois, U.S.A., +1 312-376-5000, without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
Exceptions to the right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal does not apply to:
- The delivery of newspapers, journals or magazines with the exception of subscription contracts; and
- The supply of digital content which is not supplied on a tangible medium (e.g. on a CD or DVD) if you accepted when you placed your order that we could start to deliver it, and that you could not withdraw once delivery had started.
Shipping terms
Orders usually ship within 2 business days. Shipping rates are based on books weighing 1.5 LB, or 1 KG. If the book is heavy or oversize, particularly Art, Photography, and Erotica titles, we may contact you to let you know extra shipping is required, based on actual cost. Every year, the shipping/dispatch rates of the United States Postal Service (USPS) as well as the private services relentlessly increase. PLEASE NOTE: WE DO NOT MAKE MONEY ON SHIPPING. BUT WE CANNOT AFFORD TO SUBSIDIZE IT EITHER. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
