Lengthy dated (May 29, 1999) inscription from the author with the additional statement "Remembering the way he called me Rose", SIGNED by the author to the front end-paper. An historical novel set in 1880s Tombstone, Arizona, featuring a strong female character and depicting life, culture, and the Bird Cage Theatre there. A lovely book production. Fine in simulated green leather with gilt embossed titles and decorations to the front cover and to the spine; in a very nearly fine, color photo-pictorial dust jacket. Octavo; 485 pages.
