Item description from seller

Uncorrected Proof. Folded and gathered photocopied sheets, staple bound into a mockup of the dust jacket. The pages have been stapled together, the staples exhibiting oxidation, some staining to the jacket, overall a sound, good copy. On the title page, Wright has handwritten three epigraphs, from Einstein, Bliss Carmen, and another we cannot quite make out, but it might be Al Capone. Laid in is a two-page photocopied long galley of the front matter of the book (contents, acknowledgements, etc.), on the back of which Wright has written a letter, well before publication to another poet and close personal friend: "12 February 1982. Jim, I thought you might like to see this: the first page proofs of my book." Wright goes on to speak about their last visit together, and concludes with a drawing that we are at a loss to describe. A possibly unique construction of Wright's first important collection, with a nice association.
