FIRST EDITION, pp.22; type ornament vignettes on first & final leaves; a very good untrimmed copy with consequently large margins. Modern stiff wrappers labelled: '575 Sotheby 13/3/1922 H W Copy', further pencilled H.W. 48 at head of title, signed 'William Rees Mogg May 1960' on inner wrapper. Attributed by Lady Hervey to Temple West ('Augustus Hervey's journal' Ed. by David Erskine. London, 1953, p. 311). A copy of this pamphlet in Horace Walpole's library is listed by Hazen 1608 volume 27. Purchased by Sir Leicester Harmsworth at the Windsor Castle sale of March, 1922, and subsequently sold to Quaritch who sold it on to W.S. Lewis in 1938. However, Hazen argues that the 'H.W.' notes in this copy 'were meant by Quaritch or Lord Harmsworth's librarian to indicate only that other copies of this tract were in the Walpolian volumes'.
