"Provides the first complete, scientific review of this emerging medico-legal field and helps readers understand the complexities of environmental elements that can have a dramatic impact on an investigation. It outlines techniques for identifying differences and how this can drastically impact the estimated time of death in humans or any investigation where temperature, humidity, winds and other weather elements are a factor. Written by an expert in environmental/atmospheric investigations, the text provides detailed information on different cooling rate techniques applicable to the human body-post mortem and insect growth rates in entomology, plus an in-depth look at how the practicing meteorologist (or other forensic professional) can start his/her own forensic business with a review of legal terms, range of consulting fees, sample testimony letter and the nuances of dealing with the legal profession in and out of the courtroom."
