Adaptation by Orbach of Lie's squirrel tale, originally translated by Claes Leonard Hultgren and published in 1931. First edition thus, with illustrations by John Hawkinson, including an original watercolor drawing of trees on the front free endsheet SIGNED by the illustrator. Sadly, this page has been cut out, reversed, and taped back in with non-archival but non-yellowing tape. Hardcover, full blue buckram with full color pastedown illustration on the front, black titling. Light wear, front free endsheet cut out and replaced with non-archival tape; jacket spine tanned, edges lightly worn. Text clean; 32 pages, color & b/w illustrations. Seller Inventory # u1672
