Number 54 of a Liimited Edition of 200 copies signed by Epstein and Lee. First edition. Quarto. Original brown clth boards with title lettering to upper board and the spine. Number 54 of 200 copies signed by the artist at his portrait and by Laurie Lee at the end of his 8-page introduction. This copy numbered for the jewellery designed Nicholas Harris. 32 full-page photographs by Geoffrey Ireland. A VG+ copy, without inscriptions or any other internal markings. Lacks the white dust-jacket and slipcase. Text set in 14 pt. Times New Roman; the gravure plates were made and printed by The Vandyke Printers Limited. The Lion and Unicorn Press was founded in 1954 at the Royal College of Art, London. Named after the Festival of Britain's Lion and the Unicorn Pavilion, the Lion and Unicorn Press was established with the aim of producing finely designed and typeset books, illustrated, printed and bound at the RCA.
