About the Author:

Luis Jorge Garay (Ph. D. in Economics, Massachusetts Institute of Technology). Visiting Scholar at the universities of Oxford and Cambridge (U.K.) and the Inter-American Development Bank. Consultant at, the United Nations, the National Planning Department and Ministries of Finance, Foreign Trade and Foreign Affairs in Colombia. Director of the National Process of Verification of Human, Social and Economic Rights of the forced displaced population in Colombia. He has authored more than 40 books, numerous essays and scientific articles in topics like international migration and remittances, international trade and economic integration, foreign debt management, industrial development and international competitiveness, globalization, corruption and capture of State, and transnational criminal networks.

Eduardo Salcedo-Albaran (Master in Political Science, Universidad de los Andes, Bogota, Colombia). Founder and Director of Scientific Vortex, has researched in the areas of transnational criminal networks, corruption and drug-trafficking. He contributes to EDGE Foundation, with thinkers “who are at the center of today's intellectual, technological, and scientific landscape”. His visual work on illicit network was presented at the Serpentine Gallery, London, U.K. He has collaborated for books and magazines as a researcher and also as activist on science and empirical knowledge. He has taught in the areas of Scientific Thought, Evolution, Genetics and Artificial Intelligence for Social Scientists and Philosophers. As fellow researcher, partner and consultant, he currently researches on Transnational Criminal Networks with institutes and universities in North, Central and South America, Europe and Africa
