Item description from seller

5 7/8 X 8 1/4 Inches. 488 [1] PP. Original illustrated red cloth binding. Barnum's now classic book on financial freedom along with inspirational short biographies of successful politicians and businessmen of the day. SIGNED BY BARNUM ON A LAID-IN GIFT CARD AS SHOWN. Elaborate gilt decoration to cover and spine in near perfect condition. Although Barnum produced a few books on "financial freedom" during his lifetime, Dollars and Sense was the book that brought it all together in one concise volume. Includes Barnum's frank opinions on the power of a positive attitude, the use of debt and the banking industry in general. Includes contributions by Henry Hunt and Seldon Hopkins. A few scuffs to covers. An incredible example that is rarely found in this condition.

Store description

Back in Time Rare Books is the home of Mike Cotter and his traveling band of misfit books! Mike has been in the rare books business in some form or fashion for nearly twenty years. The older he gets, the more his collection starts to resemble his bedroom at the age of 10. The stock at Back in Time is officially classified as General Antiquarian, but the truth of the matter is that the stock is a smattering of historical pieces that have found their way beyond the gates of Endor. You see, Mike has two great loves in his professional life - American History & Pop Culture of the late 20th Century. Back in Time is a member of the Florida Antiquarian Booksellers Association (FABA) as well as the Antiquarian Booksellers Association of America (ABAA). USPAP compliant appraisal work provided for those in need of insurance and/or IRS appraisals.…
