First edition. Octavo. pp [vi], 110. Presentation copy from the author, inscribed on the front free endpaper: ''Christopher - love from Muriel''. The recipient is her fellow playwright Christopher Fry whom Spark first met when she accompanied her then lover Derek Stanford to Fry's house at Shipton-under-Wychwood in 1950 when Stanford was writing a book on him. It seems from Martin Stannard's biography of Spark that she was the one of the pair who most impressed Fry during the visit. Stanford himself, in his book on Spark published in 1963, admits that the most significant result of the visit was a poem that she wrote afterwards. Fine in very near fine dustwrapper.
