About this Item
Stated First Edition. Signed and inscribed on the half-title page ( 'For Dan and Nancy, Jim Hulbert.' You can see the covers in the photos. They are in very nice condition. The worst sin is a small crease at the front bottom corner. There is minor crinkling at the bottom edge of the spine. The six edges are in very good shape. So are the four corners. No rubbing. The lettering on the front and spine is bright. The top page edge is yellow. All three page edges are very clean. The book is very solidly bound from cover to cover with nicely tight pages and nicely tight covers as well. The inside covers and end papers are a light yellow. They are very clean and free of wear. All of the pages appear to be free of any soiling. I'm not seeing any sharp creasing, no placeholder corner creases. A good number of the bottom corners have a light indent/semi crease, the consequence of the bump to the front bottom corner. There are no markings in the book. No attachments of any kind. And with the exception of the author's signed inscription, no one has written their name or anything else anywhere. You can see the dust jacket in the first few photos. It's not perfect but it has held up pretty well. It has smooth rubbing on the front, also one tiny tear off the front top edge. There's another tiny tear off the bottom edge of the spine, along with a little rubbing at both spine ends. The white flaps are in very nice shape, just a little bit of crinkling here and there. The jacket is NOT price-clipped, not clipped at all. It will be fitted with a protective cover after the photos are scanned. From the dust jacket: 'This bold, lusty story moves against the shattering days of the Great Depression as it lays bare the lives of four people bound to each other and bound just as irrevocably to the brawling new labor movement of the thirties. These are tempestuous people with intense loves and hates; people who reach boldly, sometimes cruelly, for what they want. Rough, raw, honest, The Disputed Barricade contains the exciting plotting and terse writing that distinguish Mr. Hulbert's popular novel Noon on the Third Day.'. Seller Inventory # 003948
