Item description from seller

First limited edition of Harrison's last published work. Octavo, original publisher's cloth with the title stamped in blind on the front panel. One of 150 numbered copies, this is number 36. Boldly signed by Jim Harrison on the third free endpaper. In fine condition. Accompanied by an inscribed note laid in, "10/16 Thanks for your support of Copper Canyon Press and Jim's poetry." James Harrison (1937—2016) was an American poet, novelist, and essayist whose work is distinguished by its lyrical intensity and sustained engagement with landscape, memory, and the natural world. Writing across multiple genres, Harrison explored themes of love, loss, masculinity, and spiritual restlessness, often grounding his narratives in the rural Midwest and American West. 'Dead Man’s Float' (2016) is a late poetry collection by Jim Harrison that reflects on aging, mortality, and the persistence of appetite—both physical and spiritual—near the end of life.
