595 x 460mm. Large portfolio of offset lithographs in detached cardboard covers. 28 unnumbered leaves, printed recto only. Some dampstaining to edges of front and rear pages, with rearmost verso slightly discoloured. Pages bound with three metal screw clips, but the holes on the corrugated cardboard covers have been breached, leaving them detached. Fair condition example of a scarce and important artists book by the New York print-maker. Signed twice by Les Levine on the front and rear pages, dated 1970. Includes contributions by Lucas Samaras, Gregory Battcock, David Bourdon, Yvonne Rainer, Remy Charlip, Walter Gutman, Brigid Polk, Wynn Chamberlain, Teeny Duchamp, Rosalyn Drexler, Helen Ansell, Kenneth King, Ann Wilson, Stephen Dunn, Jasper Johns, Barbara Forst, Andy Warhol, James Lee Byars, and others. The publication artistically presents the oversized 'masterprints' of the Jill Johnston special issue of Culture Hero (February 1970), a gossipy satirical tabloid serial devoted to New York City's downtown art scene.
