The Crazy Kill Range, the high mountain country where the veteran stallion Big Baldy roamed with his wild mares was a hazardous world for hunter and hunted alike. Ebony, son of the great ranch stallion Midnight, became part of that world at birth when his mother, ready to foal, broke from the safety of the ranch for seclusion in the wild - a move which delivered both her and her son to Big Baldy's herd.
