Add to basket1934. First edition. 136pp. and 4 black and white illustrations. This is a collection of over seventy short poems by Archibald Rea, who was brought up in Glamis, Scotland. Most of the poems relate to Nature, and some are in Doric. The author is probably best known as the author of "Lindores Abbey and Its Historical Associations". The book is bound in the original red cloth covered boards with black titling on the spine and titling with a black illustration on the front board. Top edge gilt. The book is in very good ocndition and the contents are tight and clean. There is a signed inscription from the author on the half-title page that reads: "To Miss Annabella Wallace with best wishes for the coming year, A.H. Rea, 24/12/1941". The unclipped dustwrapper has some shelf wear and lightr soiling with a water stain around the top rerar corner. The spine is browned with about 1/2" missing from around the top of the spine. There are a few tears of up to about 3/4" on the top edge and the larger of these have been repaired on the reverse with tape. The dustwrapper is in an easily removed clear plastic protective cover.
