Item description from seller

Per copy right page, only date is 1924 - no other details. Author, Harold Gage, signed and gave year of '1927' written on first title page. Profusely illustrated in b&W drawings & approximately 15 full page glossy color illustrations. These colored drawings are in the style of the 1920's Arthur Rackham, delicate, whimsy and muted colors. Dark tan cloth covered boards are soiled, rubbed and has edge wear. Corners are bumped and lightly fraying. Embossed illustration on front cover very readable and defined. Lettering on spine is readable but spine is faded darker. No folds on pages; one page has closed tear and pages are starting to brown. Front & back boards are cracked but binding is holding firm- no loose pages or signatures. Foxing on end papers. No DJ This is NOT an Ex-lib nor a remainder. This book is 100 years old and is very good condition given that it is 338 pages thick and has no DJ to protect it.

Store description

Autumn Leaves Books has been in the book selling business since 1996 in the Chicago and NW Indiana region. We specialize in fine illustrated and collectible children's books, children's literature, fairy tales and mythology. We also offer an eclectic mix of quality rare & out of print books on a diverse range of non-fiction subjects. Browse our storefront and you may find books on history, Civil War, WW2, philosophy, as well as vintage paperbacks and older science fiction books. We make every effort to fairly describe the condition of the book and identify any flaws (writing, tears, creases, folds), including that of the dust jacket. We use the "Fine" book condition judiciously when grading of the book or dust jacket. Our books are well cared for and most dust jackets will be in clear protective coverings. If you have any questions, please send us an e-mail.
